NEW ENERGY STANDARDS

New star ratings have come in for clothes washers, dishwashers and rotary clothes dryers.

 

Known as Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS), the energy rating registration facility has been updated for these products to enable registration to the new determinations.

 

Suppliers can update existing registrations to the new determinations free of charge.

 

The main changes involve the number of stars displayed on the Super-Efficient Label and Energy Efficiency Label, up from 6 to 10.

 

So clothes washers with capacities above 10 kg (up to 20 kg)can now have a star rating greater than 6.
