This plumber in the US did - but luckily managed to catch the culprit in the act according to komonews.com.
Mauro Egidi had been plumbing for 26 years and had seen it all - or thought he had!
He was working at a home in Seattle when he noticed some tools missing from his van.
The following day at the same site Egidi spotted a man going into the back of his ute.
He told police he approached the 42-year old suspect, and after a scuffle managed to hold him down until officers arrived.
The alleged offender was known to police who had a number of warrants out for his arrest.
